OrthoNOW® is the nation’s only network of orthopedic urgent care centers and provides free physicals to all student athletes at its Doral Center. “OrthoNOW® is thrilled about the positive impact that this union will have on the health and wellness of FNU student athletes,” said Dr. Alejandro Badia, Medical Director of OrthoNOW® Doral. “This is truly a progressive partnership that makes sense on all fronts. It allows us to give back to the community by creating a healthier student athletic environment, but also it increases productivity and reduces healthcare costs,” Badia concludes.
The health and wellness trend is being embraced by organizations across all sectors and sizes because of the many benefits that participants receive. OrthoNOW®, which specializes in orthopedic and sports related injuries, provides its patients with the latest digital imaging services, techniques and treatments. For instance, ARPWave Neuro Therapy is available for patients in a comprehensive rehabilitation plan. This therapy dramatically alleviates acute and chronic pain and expedites recovery time from surgery and, previously, it was only available to top professional athletes. Additionally, the continuity of care available through the OrthoNOW® Rehabilitation Center, provides a private outpatient clinical setting for physical and occupational therapy where quality care and patient satisfaction are key.
“Our students’ safety and well-being are always first and foremost,” says Dr. Maria Cristina Regueiro, President and CEO at Florida National University. “And, this partnership underscores our commitment and desire to ensure that our student-athletes stay healthy—and if injured during practice or at a game–receive the proper medical attention so that they can recover quickly,” concludes Dr. Regueiro.
