Badia Hand to Shoulder Center agrees with, and is following the recommendations of, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). At this time, due to COVID-19 policies (read Important COVID-19 update), Dr. Badia will not be performing orthopedic procedures that are considered elective or non-urgent.
Elective surgeries are medical procedures that can be scheduled at a later date, without risk of worsening the condition. This does not, however, necessarily mean that the procedure is optional. Emergent and urgent surgeries, on the other hand, cannot or should not be delayed, and can still be performed at this time.
Urgent and emergent orthopedic conditions include but are not limited to:
- Open Fractures
- Neurovascular Injuries
- Dislocations
- Septic (Infected) Joints
