The lab is designed to allow teaching of visiting fellows/colleagues in both elementary and advanced techniques for arthroscopy of the the hand and upper limb. This includes the wrist, metacarpophalangeal joints, thumb trapeziometacarpal joint, elbow and endoscopic carpal tunnel release. The most valuable feature is that the MHC operating rooms are walking steps away from the lab; hence, the visitor can see many of the procedures performed on patients while affording the opportunity to practice on a cadaver in an individualized manner. It is directed by Alejandro Badia, MD, FACS who has been active in all phases of upper limb arthroscopy and has served as faculty for AANA and taught courses in wrist and hand arthroscopy in Europe and Latin America. The technical aspects of the lab are managed by Dr. Igor Indriago, from Caracas, Venezuela.
